Betting odds for UFC Vegas 22: Derek Brunson vs. Kevin Holland.
Both Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland successfully made weight Friday morning for their main event scrap at UFC Vegas 22.
Brunson, ranked No. 7 in the middleweight division, is riding a three-fight winning streak coming into Saturday night’s bout with Holland. The 37-year-old last fought Edmen Shahbazyan in August, a fight in which Brunson ended the youngster’s undefeated streak by third-round technical knockout. Meanwhile, Holland amassed an impressive 5-0 record in the year 2020 and is coming off a spectacular first-round knockout of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza at UFC 256. It will be interesting to see which game plan prevails in the end, Brunson’s wrestling or Holland’s unorthodox striking.
The biggest betting favorite on the card at UFC Vegas 22 will be bantamweight Montel Jackson. “Quik” is currently a massive favorite at -750, with opponent Jesse Strader coming back at +475. Jackson is 3-2 in the promotion and is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Brett Johns. Strader will be making his UFC debut after just six professional fights with a record of 5-1. Strader agreed to the bout on just 10 days’ notice.
For those unfamiliar with betting odds, they are easiest understood by assuming each bet is $100. For example, if a bettor chooses Holland at -175, that means a $175 bet would return $100 if he wins. On the flip side, if one were to bet Brunson at +145, a $100 bet would be needed in order to win $145 should Brunson come away victorious.
