Alabama running back Najee Harris made draft day special for kids at the homeless shelter where he lived when he was younger before being picked by the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting an exceptional running back in Najee Harris, who they selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They’re also getting an awesome person.

Harris used his platform on Thursday to throw a party for kids at the homeless shelter where he spent some of his middle school days.

According to the shelter’s executive director, they wanted to hold a draft party in his honor. Harris stepped up on his own and insisted on paying for the food along with attending.

Najee Harris went back to his roots for his draft day party

“We have a lot of memories here,” Harris said. “That was a time in our life when we was really low at a point. It brought back a lot of memories of what we were going through at the time.”

Harris called it an emotional feeling, but he was happy to have the appreciation for his roots while giving back.

Having a future NFL star spend time with them is something those kids will never forget.
